Hub 3 - Towards Independence
We in Hub 3 are working in the Towards Independence Department, following the formal pathway. We enjoy learning through practical experiences, as this makes topics more accessible to us, and are provided with many opportunities to develop our independence and communication skills through PODD, Makaton, switch-accessed technology and regular modelling of AAC devices. We have a strong focus on Preparing for Adulthood, whether that be through our learning in school towards are accreditations and learning key life skills, or whether that is out in the community at places like the Farm, Craft Barn or Dobbies as well as the many, many additional experiences our brilliant vocational team take us on! We also work hard on our EHCP and Golden Thread targets across these experiences both in and out of school. Hub 3 pupils are a happy, sociable group with an excellent sense of humour. We love trying new experiences and celebrating our successes together!
