Admissions Arrangements
Saxon Hill Academy is an all-age (2-19) special school for children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Complex Medical Needs and Physical Disabilities. With opportunities for sort term residential stays at our ‘Outstanding’ Sleepover Club.
Proud members of the Shaw education trust, Saxon Hill Academy serves families from across Staffordshire. Providing a specialised provision for meeting the needs of children for whom a mainstream or generic special schools cannot provide.
Children placed at Saxon Hill will have an Educational Health and Care plan, or attend on an assessment placement. Their plans will include Physical disabilities and/or Complex Medical Needs, with associated learning or sensory needs.
Working in partnership with the Health Trusts, Saxon Hill provide an holistic environment for meeting the Education, Health and Care needs of our children and young people with onsite; medical, physiotherapy, Sensory and Communication support.
Arrangements:
Our Planned Places number is agreed annually with the Local Authority. This can vary slightly year on year depending on our capacity to meet the needs of our complex population.
We can consider requests for places from the Local Authority throughout the year, and are often planning the school roll a year ahead.

Saxon Hill Academy is always oversubscribed, so you will need to contact Staffordshire Local Authority to discuss all schools that may be able to meet the needs of your child. Saxon Hill cannot confirm your child’s placement at the school this will come from the local authority.
