Drinks and snacks
As part of our commitment to supporting your child’s well-being and concentration throughout the school day, we allocate 15 minutes during class for a snack break. We kindly ask that you provide a snack for your child to enjoy during this time.
While we strongly advocate for healthy eating, we understand that some of our pupils require a higher calorie intake. Therefore, the choice of snack is entirely at your discretion. However, please be aware that Saxon Hill Academy is a nut-free school, so it is crucial that any snacks provided do not contain nuts to ensure the safety of all students.
If your child drinks anything other than water or milk, please ensure that you provide this for them.
What does Saxon Hill academy provide?
· Nursery pupils (children under 5) are provided with 1 cup of milk per day they attend,
· Reception and year 1 and 2 (children aged 4 - 6) are provided with 1 portion of fresh fruit or veg a day. Fruit and veg provided are seasonal and are often apples, bananas, pears, carrots and tomatoes. We are unable to request the type of fruit provided.
· All children have access to fresh water – if your child prefers flavoured drinks you will need to provide this. We discourage fizzy drinks.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us maintain a safe and healthy environment for all.
